Challenge: Reduce Customer's Part Costs by $300,000


Customer Issue: Major automotive stamping operation was challenged by Total Cost Management to reduce costs for our customer. Our customer solicited our assistance in achieving a portion of their cost savings objective.


Tottser's Approach:
Tottser established a cross-functional "Value Engineering" team to redesign the part used on the Ford Explorer lift gate. By re-designing the part, Tottser was able to remove an entire operation.


Customer Result:
Innovative problem solving and team- oriented engineering resulted in a cost reduction of 30% for our customer.

 

 

 
CUSTOMER SUCCESS STORY


Challenge: Resolve Vendor's Poor Performance


Customer Issue:
Major automotive component assembly operation was being constantly shut down by inconsistent vendor performance (Late deliveries, unacceptable product quality, inability to resolve problems.) The customer called Tottser to address the situation.


Customer Need:
The automotive component customer provided six dies to the Tottser team, all of which needed modification. Delivery of finished stampings were required in three days (over a weekend.)


Tottser's Approach: Tottser's Value Engineering and In-House Tool Room Team assessed the faulty design; modified the tooling to address the quality issue; organized a work team to build tooling through the weekend; coordinated production start up with Tottser Production Team.


Customer Result: Customer had stampings on the production floor at 7am Monday morning. Operations have not been interrupted since Tottser became the primary bracket supplier.
